The Warehouseman is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, goods, and products within the warehouse. The Warehouseman ensures that all products are stored in an organized and safe manner, and that all orders are filled and shipped in a timely manner. The Warehouseman also assists in maintaining accurate inventory records, cleaning and maintaining the warehouse, and conducting safety checks. The Warehouseman must have excellent organizational skills, the ability to lift and carry heavy items, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently. The Warehouseman must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work well with minimal supervision.
Warehouseman Duties
- Receiving, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material
- Counting, weighing, and measuring goods to verify information against invoices, orders, or other documents
- Storing and stacking materials in proper locations within the warehouse
- Locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves
- Loading and unloading trucks and other vehicles
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Maintaining warehouse inventory
- Performing regular cycle counts and inventory updates
- Preparing, picking, and packing orders for shipment
- Complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
