The purpose of a Tow Truck Operator is to safely provide towing and roadside assistance services to customers. This includes operating a tow truck and responding to customer calls for service. Tow Truck Operators must be knowledgeable about the local streets and highways, as well as any applicable laws and regulations pertaining to towing. They must also be able to safely and effectively secure vehicles for transport and ensure that customer vehicles are delivered in a timely manner.

Tow Truck Operator Summary

Tow Truck Operator Job Summary A Tow Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a tow truck to transport vehicles, boats, and other heavy equipment from one location to another. This position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, as well as experience operating a tow truck. The Tow Truck Operator must also be knowledgeable of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to towing and safety. The Operator must be able to proficiently secure and unload vehicles and other cargo from the tow truck, as well as provide exceptional customer service.

Tow Truck Operator Duties
