The School Bus Driver must also be knowledgeable of the district's policies and procedures relating to student conduct and safety. The School Bus Driver must interact with students in a positive and respectful manner and follow established rules and regulations.
School Bus Driver Duties
- Transport students to and from school and other school-related activities in a safe and timely manner
- Monitor student behavior and ensure a safe and orderly environment on the bus
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, recording any defects and reporting them to the appropriate personnel
- Assist students in loading and unloading the bus
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the local streets, roads, and traffic regulations
- Complete daily driver logs and reports
- Provide first aid and emergency assistance when needed
