Role Purpose
The purpose of a longshoreman is to load and unload cargo from ships, barges, and other vessels. They ensure that the cargo is unloaded safely and securely, and that it is in the correct location on the dock. Longshoremen may also be responsible for operating cranes, forklifts, and other heavy equipment to move cargo, as well as to perform maintenance and repairs on docks and vessels.
