About the Class B Driver role
Class B Driver is a job that involves operating a medium-sized truck or bus, usually with a capacity of 26,000 pounds or more, to transport goods and materials. The driver must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and follow all laws and regulations related to the operation of their vehicle. They must also inspect the vehicle and its contents before and after each trip, load and unload the vehicle, and maintain a log of their travels.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of a Class B driver is to transport goods or passengers in a safe and timely manner while obeying all traffic laws. Class B drivers may operate vehicles such as box trucks, dump trucks, and buses. They may also be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, collecting fees, keeping records of their trips, and maintaining their vehicles. In addition, Class B drivers may be responsible for delivering customer service, providing customer assistance, and providing directions.
