About the Aircraft Loadmaster role
Aircraft Loadmasters are responsible for managing and supervising the loading and offloading of cargo and personnel onto military aircraft. They are responsible for ensuring that the weight and balance of the aircraft is maintained and that all cargo is properly secured before takeoff. They also must have the ability to analyze and interpret flight plans, calculate weight and balance, and coordinate with other personnel.
Role Purpose
The purpose of an Aircraft Loadmaster is to ensure the safe and efficient loading, offloading, and handling of cargo, passengers, and other material on an aircraft. This includes planning and organizing loading operations, directing and supervising personnel, monitoring cargo weight and balance to ensure safety, and coordinating with aircrew members and air traffic control personnel. The Aircraft Loadmaster is also responsible for verifying and documenting cargo and passenger manifests and inventorying cargo prior to loading.
