Role Purpose

The purpose of a Resident Advisor (RA) job role is to serve as a positive role model, mentor, and resource for students living in campus housing. RAs are responsible for upholding residence hall regulations and promoting community development, academic success, and citizenship within the residence hall. RAs also serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff members, and provide support to residents who may be struggling with personal, educational, and/or social issues. In addition, RAs are expected to plan and oversee residence hall activities, programs, and events.

Resident Advisor Job Summary As a Resident Advisor, you will provide guidance and support to the residents of a college campus. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the residents, and for leading educational and social programming. You will also serve as a resource for the residents, helping them to make healthy lifestyle choices and connecting them to campus resources.
