The purpose of an Autism Consultant is to provide support and guidance to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), their families, and other stakeholders. They assist in developing individualized plans to address the areas of need for each individual with ASD. They also provide direct services such as behavior management, social skills training, communication training, and parent education. Autism Consultants work to ensure the highest quality of life for individuals with ASD and their families.
Autism Consultant Summary
The Autism Consultant is responsible for providing guidance and support to families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The consultant will work with families to identify the individual needs of their child and develop a plan of action to meet those needs. The consultant will also provide educational resources, strategies, and techniques to families to help them better understand ASD and implement strategies to help their child reach their maximum potential. In addition to providing direct support to families, the consultant will collaborate with school staff and other professionals to ensure the child’s needs are being met. The Autism Consultant should be knowledgeable and up-to-date on current research and resources related to ASD.
