About the Addiction Therapist role
Addiction therapists provide counseling and support to individuals with substance abuse and other addictive behaviors. They help people develop coping skills, address underlying issues, and develop a plan for long-term recovery.
Role Purpose
The purpose of an Addiction Therapist is to provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and support for individuals suffering from substance use disorders and other addictions. They work with individuals, families, and groups to develop strategies for managing the physical, psychological, and social impacts of addiction. They also provide education on relapse prevention and recovery management, as well as referrals to community resources.
Addiction Therapist Summary
The Addiction Therapist is responsible for providing counseling and therapy to individuals with addictions to drugs and/or alcohol. The Addiction Therapist will assess individual needs, develop treatment plans and provide individual, family and/or group therapy. They will also provide education on addiction and recovery, create a safe and supportive environment for treatment, and identify and refer individuals to appropriate resources. The Addiction Therapist will collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate and provide comprehensive care.
Addiction Therapist Duties
