About the Stockroom Associate role
Stockroom associates are responsible for managing the inventory of a retail store. They are responsible for organizing, stocking, and tracking items both in the stockroom and on the store floor. They must also ensure that products are displayed correctly and safely.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Stockroom Associate is to maintain inventory accuracy and organization in the stockroom and provide excellent customer service. This includes stocking merchandise, maintaining the stockroom organization, and fulfilling customer orders. Stockroom Associates also assist customers with returns and refunds, answer customer inquiries, and ensure the security of all merchandise.
Stockroom Associate Summary
The Stockroom Associate is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the stockroom. This includes receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming inventory, as well as picking, packing, and shipping outgoing orders. The Stockroom Associate must also maintain accurate inventory records, assist with cycle counts, and rotate stock to ensure freshness. In addition, this position requires the ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary, as is the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
