A Home Caregiver provides companionship, personal care, and support services for individuals in their homes, helping them to remain independent and safe. This may involve providing assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders.
Role Purpose
The purpose of an in-home caregiver is to provide assistance and support to individuals in their own homes, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving the care they need. This may include providing physical, emotional, and spiritual care; helping with activities of daily living such as bathing and dressing; providing meals; and helping with medications and other healthcare needs. In-home caregivers provide companionship, emotional support, and help with tasks that can no longer be done independently. In-home caregivers also provide valuable respite care for family caregivers.
In Home Caregiver Summary
The In-Home Caregiver is responsible for providing direct care and assistance to elderly, disabled, and/or chronically ill individuals in their own home. Duties include, but are not limited to: providing assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting; preparing and serving meals; performing light housekeeping tasks; providing companionship; administering medications; and providing assistance with exercise and mobility. The Caregiver must maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment in order to ensure the best possible care for their clients. The Caregiver must also be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations.
