Role Purpose

The purpose of a Telemetry Nurse is to monitor and assess the vital signs of patients in order to provide quality care. This may include measuring and recording patient temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation levels. Telemetry Nurses also provide patient education, administer medications, and provide emotional support to patients and family members. Additionally, Telemetry Nurses may also be responsible for documenting patient information, communicating with other healthcare professionals, and providing treatments based on the patient's condition.

Telemetry Nurse Summary

The Telemetry Nurse is responsible for providing full care to patients in a telemetry unit, as well as monitoring and interpreting telemetry results. This position requires excellent patient care and communication skills, as well as advanced knowledge of cardiac care. The Telemetry Nurse will monitor and assess vital signs, initiate and manage treatments and medications, and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other telemetry data. They will also provide patient and family education, participate in quality improvement activities, and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team. This position requires a valid nursing license and certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
