The purpose of a Playwright is to create original works of drama for the stage, television, or film. This includes writing dialogue and developing characters, creating plotlines and structuring the overall story, and adapting existing works to a new medium. Playwrights may also conduct research, collaborate with other actors, directors, producers, and other creative personnel, and attend rehearsals to ensure their scripts are being executed effectively.
