Chemical Plant Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining chemical processing equipment and systems to create industrial and consumer goods. The purpose of a Chemical Plant Operator is to operate and maintain equipment used in the production of chemicals and related products. This includes monitoring production output, adjusting equipment and process settings, inspecting and testing product quality, conducting preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting process issues. The Operator must be able to understand and respond to process control systems, read and interpret process flow diagrams, and use personal protective equipment as necessary.
