About the Boiler Mechanic role
Boiler Mechanics are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing boilers, tanks, and other pressure vessels used in industrial and commercial environments. They inspect and test boiler systems, diagnose problems, and perform necessary repairs while following safety protocols. Boiler Mechanics may also be responsible for ordering parts and supplies.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Boiler Mechanic is to install, maintain, and repair steam boilers, hot water boilers, and other related systems. They inspect and test boilers, valves, safety devices, and controls to ensure that they are operating properly. Boiler Mechanics also perform preventative maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting boiler systems. In addition, they diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems that may arise. Boiler Mechanics must be knowledgeable in the use of hand tools and power tools, as well as safety practices and procedures.
