Boilers may be used to generate power, heat water or steam, and provide process heating in a variety of industries, such as chemical, food, beverage, paper, and power production. Boiler operators are responsible for ensuring that the boilers are functioning safely and efficiently, and for making any necessary adjustments or repairs to keep them operating at peak performance.
Boiler Summary
A Boiler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining boilers and associated equipment in order to provide efficient and reliable steam production and hot water generation. The Boiler Operator must ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are adhered to and that all equipment is operated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and company policies. This position requires a broad knowledge of safety standards, as well as a strong mechanical aptitude. The Boiler Operator must be able to work with minimal supervision and must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.
