They must be knowledgeable in the use of specialized tools and equipment, such as fusion splicers, cleavers, and microscopes, to ensure accuracy and quality of the splicing process.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Fiber Splicer is to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables and related equipment, such as connectors, splices, and terminations. The Fiber Splicer must have a strong understanding of fiber optics and must be able to interpret blueprints and diagrams in order to properly install the cables. The Fiber Splicer must also be able to troubleshoot any existing cable problems and repair them as needed. They must also be able to test fiber optic cables to ensure they are functioning properly.
