Activity Aides provide physical, emotional and mental support to individuals in order to increase their involvement in activities that promote their physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth. They are responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating programs and activities that meet the individual’s needs. Activity Aides must be able to work with individuals of various ages and abilities, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Activity Aide Summary

The Activity Aide is responsible for providing meaningful recreational activities for residents in a long-term care facility or assisted living facility. This position requires a compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient individual who is able to work with people of all ages and abilities. The Activity Aide must plan, implement, and evaluate activities that meet the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of the residents. The Activity Aide must also be able to use sound judgment and be able to handle a variety of situations with discretion.
