About the Emergency Room Technician role
Emergency Room Technicians provide basic patient care and assist medical staff in the Emergency Room. They collect and document patient information, take vital signs, prepare patients for examination, and help with basic treatments under the direction of a physician. They must be able to respond quickly and calmly in high-pressure situations.
Role Purpose
The purpose of an Emergency Room Technician is to provide patient care and support to medical staff in the Emergency Room. This includes preparing patients for examination, assisting with medical procedures, collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and providing comfort and support to patients. In addition, Emergency Room Technicians may be responsible for providing basic medical care, such as wound dressing and splinting, as well as performing general administrative tasks, such as filing and paperwork.
