About the Cardiology Physician Assistant role

Role Purpose
The purpose of a Cardiology Physician Assistant (PA) is to provide specialized care and support to patients with cardiovascular conditions. The PA works closely with a supervising physician to diagnose and treat patients with a variety of heart and vascular problems, including coronary artery disease, hypertension, and arrhythmias. The PA may also assist in the performance of diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations. Additionally, the PA may perform certain medical procedures, such as electrocardiograms, and provide patient education and counseling on diet, lifestyle, and cardiac medications.
