About the Ambulance Driver role

The purpose of an Ambulance Driver is to provide timely and efficient transportation of patients in a safe and caring manner. Ambulance Drivers must be knowledgeable of the principles of emergency medical care, be familiar with the geography of their area, and have the ability to quickly and safely maneuver an ambulance in all kinds of traffic conditions. They are responsible for providing direct patient care, such as providing first-aid and initiating basic life support, as well as providing comfort and support to the patient. The Ambulance Driver may also be responsible for maintaining the vehicle, keeping it clean and in good condition, and ensuring that it is stocked with necessary supplies.
