About the Commodity Analyst role
A Commodity Analyst is responsible for analyzing the market conditions of various commodities and providing advice and forecasts to clients regarding their investments in those commodities. Analysts must provide accurate and timely information regarding market trends, prices, and other factors that may affect a client’s decision to purchase or sell a commodity. They must also develop strategies and recommendations for clients to help them make the most of their investments.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Commodity Analyst is to analyze commodities, such as oil, natural gas, gold, and other precious metals, in order to make predictions about their future prices. The analyst will examine historical data, market trends, and global events that may affect the price of commodities. They will monitor and forecast the prices of commodities, as well as provide advice to investors and clients on which commodities to buy and sell. The analyst will also be responsible for conducting research to stay abreast of new developments in the commodities market.
Commodity Analyst Summary
The Commodity Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to the Commodity Trading team. This position will be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing trends and providing recommendations to the team. The analyst will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and updating various commodity pricing models. The analyst will additionally provide support in the development of hedging strategies, risk management and forecasting. The analyst should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working with large data sets. A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or another related field is preferred.
