The purpose of an Access Control Technician is to install, maintain, and repair security systems, including access control systems, to protect a facility and its occupants. This includes installing and configuring hardware and software components, troubleshooting system malfunctions, and performing regular maintenance and testing to ensure optimal performance. The technician must be knowledgeable in a variety of security systems and technologies, and must be able to work with users to determine their security needs. The technician must also be able to respond to emergency situations and provide technical support to users.
Access Control Technician Summary
The Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of access control systems. This includes but is not limited to magnetic locks, electric strikes, card readers, CCTV, and other access control components. The Technician must have excellent problem solving and communication skills to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair access control systems.
