They must also ensure proper care and maintenance is given to all vehicles. The Detailer must also keep detailed records of the services they provide and maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers.
Detailer Summary
The Detailer is responsible for ensuring that vehicles are clean and presentable. This includes both interior and exterior cleaning and detailing, as well as minor repairs, such as waxing, buffing, polishing, vacuuming, and minor body work. The Detailer must have a thorough knowledge of which materials and tools are needed for each job, and must be able to work independently while meeting deadlines. The Detailer must also be able to multitask and prioritize tasks to ensure that all vehicles are in top condition. The Detailer must also maintain a clean and safe work environment, and must adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
Detailer Duties
- Prepare vehicles for detailing including cleaning, polishing and waxing interior and exterior surfaces
- Vacuum, shampoo and treat fabric, upholstery and carpets
- Apply polishes, waxes and protectants to vehicles to preserve the finish
- Remove paint blemishes, tar, and rust spots
- Inspect vehicles for damage and report any findings to supervisor
- Maintain safety standards and keep a clean work area
- Maintain a current knowledge of products and detailing techniques
