Avionics Technicians are responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft electronics systems. They work on sophisticated computer systems, test equipment, and other specialized tools.

The purpose of an Avionics Technician is to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft electronic systems. This includes all electronic components and systems, such as navigation, communication, and autopilot systems. Avionics Technicians must have a strong knowledge of electronics and a good understanding of aircraft systems. They must also be able to interpret wiring diagrams, troubleshoot and diagnose problems, install and replace components, and test and calibrate equipment. They must also be familiar with FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance procedures.
