The instructor will also evaluate students’ progress and provide feedback to ensure they are learning the necessary skills and techniques. Automotive Instructor Job Summary As an Automotive Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction in automotive mechanics and related topics to students in a classroom, laboratory, or workshop setting. You will plan and develop curriculums, teach students, and assess their progress. You must have a deep knowledge of the functioning and maintenance of various motor vehicles, and be able to communicate effectively with students from a variety of backgrounds. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials to meet the needs of students • Teach a variety of topics related to automotive mechanics, including engine repair and maintenance, electrical systems, brakes and suspension, and transmission systems • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them reach their learning objectives • Prepare and grade tests, assignments, and other assessments • Advise students on their educational and career choices • Maintain records of student performance • Plan and coordinate field trips, as appropriate • Assist with the purchasing and maintenance of automotive equipment and supplies Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology or a related field • ASE certification, or equivalent • Experience in teaching and working with students • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proficiency in teaching and assessing automotive courses • Ability to work with diverse student populations
