Woodworkers must have an eye for detail and an understanding of the properties of different types of wood in order to create quality items. They may also need to use sealants, stains, and varnishes to protect and preserve the wood. Woodworkers must have a solid understanding of mathematics and be able to read blueprints and drawings in order to accurately construct pieces.
