Metal Fabricator Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications
- Layout, measure and mark sheet metal according to blueprint specifications
- Operate sheet metal fabrication machines to cut, punch, drill, shape and bend sheet metal
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, shears, rolls, and bending machines
- Assemble and tack-weld parts to form complete units or sub-units according to blueprints and other specifications
- Inspect completed workpieces for conformance to specifications
- Repair, sharpen and clean tools and equipment
