Role Purpose
The purpose of a Cooper is to construct, repair and maintain wooden barrels, tubs, vats, casks, and other related wooden containers. The Cooper is responsible for creating and installing metal hoops that are used to shape and secure the wooden containers. They are also responsible for creating airtight seals on the containers using specialized tools, techniques, and materials. Additionally, the Cooper may be asked to inspect and repair existing wooden containers to ensure they are structurally sound and able to contain the product they are designed to store.
