The Flagger must be able to direct vehicular, pedestrian and equipment traffic through the work zone and must be alert and attentive at all times. This position requires the Flagger to be physically fit and have excellent communication and customer service skills. The Flagger must be able to respond quickly to changing conditions and provide traffic control in a professional and courteous manner while following safety regulations. Responsibilities: • Monitor and direct traffic flow through the work zone • Set up traffic control signs and cones • Communicate with the public, workers and law enforcement • Inform the public of upcoming road closures and detours • Respond to changing conditions and provide appropriate traffic control • Provide assistance to workers in the work zone • Follow safety regulations for both workers and the public • Maintain a safe and secure work environment • Report any incidents or accidents to the supervisor Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Ability to recognize and understand traffic control signs • Good communication and customer service skills • Ability to stand for extended periods of time • Ability to work in all weather conditions • Physically fit • Valid driver’s license • First Aid and CPR certification a plus
