A Burn Table Operator is responsible for operating a computer numerical control (CNC) burn table to cut steel and other metals according to specifications. They must read and understand blueprints, program the burn table, load materials, and inspect the finished product for accuracy and quality. They also maintain and troubleshoot the machines when needed.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Burn Table Operator is to operate a burn table to cut and shape metal items to the desired specifications. The Burn Table Operator is responsible for loading and unloading parts onto the burn table, adjusting the table settings, loading and unloading the cutting torch, and monitoring the cutting process. The Burn Table Operator also performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the burn table as needed. The Burn Table Operator must ensure that the materials being cut and shaped meet the desired specifications and that the cutting process is being done safely and accurately.
Burn Table Operator Summary

The Operator must be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, and must be able to set up and operate the machine to obtain desired results.
