About the Airport Electrician role

Role Purpose
The purpose of an airport electrician is to maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, wiring, and electrical equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of an airport. This may involve the installation and maintenance of lighting systems, fire alarms, security systems, power systems, and other electrical components. The electrician must also be able to troubleshoot and diagnose any electrical problems that may occur.
Airport Electrician Summary
The Airport Electrician performs electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on airport and aircraft systems. This position works both independently and as part of a team to ensure the airport is running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include: examining wiring, circuits, and other electrical components; performing preventive maintenance on aircraft electrical systems; repairing and replacing defective electrical components; troubleshooting complex electrical problems; designing and implementing electrical tests; and documenting all work completed.
