About the Aerial Lineman role
An aerial lineman is a tradesperson who works on overhead power lines, telephone lines, and other types of wiring for communication and electricity. Aerial linemen also repair broken or damaged wires and cables, as well as upgrade existing systems.
Role Purpose
The purpose of an aerial lineman is to install, maintain, and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment. This includes installing poles, setting up cross-arms, stringing wires, and connecting them to transformers, fuse boxes, and other equipment. Aerial linemen must also inspect and test lines, using specialized tools and safety equipment, and make necessary repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the power grid.
Aerial Lineman Summary
Aerial Lineman is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining aerial cabling, telecommunications, and other related equipment. The Aerial Lineman must be able to work with a variety of tools, including ladders, buckets, rigging, and other specialized equipment. The Aerial Lineman must also be able to read and interpret installation plans, blueprints, and diagrams. Aerial Lineman Duties
