About the Line Cook role

Role Purpose

The purpose of a Line Cook is to prepare food items in accordance with established recipes and standards within a commercial kitchen. This role involves working with a team to ensure that all food is cooked quickly and efficiently, with an emphasis on quality, presentation and safety. Line Cooks are responsible for setting up and stocking their work stations; preparing ingredients for cooking; following recipes; ensuring food is cooked properly and to the correct temperature; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; and adhering to all sanitation and food safety regulations.

Line Cook Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items in accordance with company recipes and standards. The Line Cook will set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, prepare food for service, cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, clean up station and take care of leftover food. The Line Cook must be organized, experienced in food preparation and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
