About the Baseball Scout role
A Baseball Scout is a professional who evaluates players' skills and makes recommendations to teams about which players to sign. They also provide reports on players of opposing teams and recommend strategies for upcoming games.
Role Purpose
The purpose of a Baseball Scout is to evaluate the talent of baseball players in order to identify potential prospects and recommend them to teams for drafting, signing, and/or trading. Scouts watch players in person to assess their abilities, interview coaches and teammates for insight, and review statistical data to make informed decisions. They must be able to recognize a player's potential and have the knowledge to evaluate their skills and performance. Baseball Scouts must also have strong interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with players, coaches, and other scouts.
Baseball Scout Summary
