Role Purpose

The purpose of an Access Services Librarian is to provide library patrons with access to library materials, services, and systems. This includes circulation services, including loaning library materials, tracking and renewing library items, and collecting fines and fees. They are also responsible for managing the library's catalog system, including creating and maintaining bibliographic records, as well as managing the library's digital resources. Additionally, Access Services Librarians may provide research assistance, develop library programming, and train library staff.

The Access Services Librarian is responsible for providing library patrons with effective access to library resources, including physical and electronic materials, services, and equipment.
