Role Purpose

The purpose of a ranch hand is to perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of a ranch or farm. This may include taking care of livestock, feeding and watering animals, cleaning and repairing equipment, mending fences, maintaining farm buildings, and other related duties. Ranch hands must also be prepared to work long hours, often in extreme weather conditions, and to follow directions from their supervisors.

Ranch Hand Summary

The Ranch Hand is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the ranch. This individual will maintain and repair ranch equipment, feed and care for livestock, and perform general groundskeeping duties. The Ranch Hand will be expected to have knowledge of animal husbandry and basic maintenance skills. They must be able to work independently and be comfortable in a rural environment. The Ranch Hand must also be able to work in various weather conditions, lift and carry heavy objects, and remain on their feet for long periods of time. A valid driver’s license is required.
