The captain is responsible for the overall safety of the vessel and its passengers, as well as the vessel's compliance with federal and local maritime regulations. The captain is also typically responsible for supervising and managing the other crew members, ensuring that the vessel is properly maintained, as well as ensuring that the vessel is operated in a safe and efficient manner.

The Boat Captain is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of a vessel and its crew. The Boat Captain will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment on board the vessel, and for managing the vessel’s crew. The Boat Captain will also be responsible for maintaining the vessel in accordance with all applicable regulations and laws.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule and oversee vessel operations, including navigation and docking of the vessel
• Monitor and ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew and the vessel
• Manage and direct the crew to ensure the vessel is operated in accordance with local and international regulations
• Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed
• Inspect and maintain the vessel, including engine, navigation and life-saving equipment
• Monitor and control the vessel’s fuel, water and supplies
• Maintain records and logs of the vessel’s operations and activities
• Handle customer service issues
• Carry out tasks assigned by the vessel’s owner
• Monitor and manage the vessel’s budget
• Handle any necessary repairs or maintenance of the vessel
• Ensure vessel is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Qualifications:
• Must have a valid Boat Captain's license
• Must have experience operating a variety of vessels
• Must have knowledge of local and international maritime regulations
• Must possess knowledge of navigation and engine systems
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
